Jon Bon Jovi has confirmed that he and his band will go on an extended hiatus at the end of their current tour. While speaking with Australia's Herald Sun, the rock icon explained that the scope of the tour has worn him down.

"When you're going to places that they don't have their own electricity and you say, 'Don't worry, we'll bring our own,' it's time to take a break," he admits.

Bon Jovi's current world tour kicked off last February in the U.S. and currently finds them Down Under, where the band will start a new leg in Perth on December 8. And while Jon says he's up for a break, he has reassured fans that this is not the end of the band.

"We have to go to bed. But I'm not retiring - for an old man who has no plastic surgery, still has all his own hair and wears a 30-inch waist, I'm doing okay," he adds.

In addition to supporting The Circle with their tour, the band has also just released their fourth greatest hits collection.
