Miley Cyrus has been having a good time. Not a ‘Charlie Sheen’ good time, but a good time all the same. She’s covered in tattoos, has been recorded doing bong hits and drinking. With that behavior, she’s firmly in the ‘average teenager’ bracket. Provided her room is a mess and she never listens to her parents.

And of course, because our Miley is a teen idol, everyone is really worried about her.

Now, long after everyone else noticed, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley’s father, is all sorts of concerned. Morning Billy. How’s your mullet?

In an interview with GQ, Billy Ray remembered that Miley was his daughter in real life (he played her dad in Hannah Montana, too) and slowly let the concern creep across his spray-tanned face. That must have been an impressive sight. Like watching a confused dog.

Talking about his daughter’s slip-ups, possibly for the first time,  he showed that he really is a  concerned parent when it comes to the fact that one of his children has been smoking salvia, pole dancing, and doing questionable photo shoots.

Now he’s blowing Miley’s absolutely typical behavior out of proportion. He’s looking at  Michael Jackson,  Anna Nicole Smith and Kurt Cobain as examples of people he hopes Miley won’t emulate.

He says:

“I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger.”

“I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she’s been through, it takes a beating on you.”

I wouldn't call Billy bright and he is, of course, in the middle of a divorce from Miley’s mom Tish (who is dating Brett Michaels), so he’s been a bit out of the loop.

Except one vital kid, eh Billy?
