There will be plenty of surprises at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (Aug. 28). We all know that Rihanna will kick off the star-studded event but who might close the show? Could it be Beyonce? Maybe.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Queen Bey “has been in top-secret rehearsals” for Sunday night’s event. If this is true, then the R&B superstar is set to deliver another stellar performance that will be the talk at office water coolers the following day.

Beyonce, who also received the Video Vanguard Award two years prior, also leads the pack of nominees with 11 nominations for her latest project, Lemonade. Among her nods include Best Female Video for “Hold Up” and Video of the Year for “Formation.”

“Anything can happen at the VMAs, any artist can be there," said MTV President Sean Atkins. "And that’s what I think our audience loves about it.”

In addition to Beyonce and RiRi performances, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande will team up to perform “Side to Side” and Britney Spears and G-Eazy will perform their duet, “Make Me." Rappers Future and Ty Dolla $ign are also on the bill.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 9PM ET.
