Elf On The Shelf – Good Concept, Creepy Reality

I don't have kids. Not having kids makes it so that I don't have to threaten them to be good or "Santa won't come", and means that I don't have to adopt one of the creepiest Christmas traditions I've ever seen.

The Elf on the Shelf is quite possibly one of the creepiest things I have ever seen. Part of this, I am sure, is that the elf looks a little bit too much like a clown for my taste. But, the story behind it is a bit creepy, too.

Every year, lists start popping up around this time of the “Top 10 this…” and the “Top 20 that…” and really, I don’t pay a whole lot of attention to them. Three Injured, Gunman Killed At Florida State University

UPDATE (12:00 p.m.): The Associated Press is reporting that the shooter was Myron May, a lawyer who graduated from Florida State before attending Texas Tech University's law school. The AP cited a law enforcement official who declined to be identified because he was not authorized to release the name.

Three people have been transported to the hospital following a shooting incident at Strozier Library on Florida State University's campus in Tallahassee.

Police responded to a call at 12:30 a.m. about an active shooter on campus. FSU officers confronted the shooter on the steps of the library and told him to drop his weapon.

Instead, the shooter fired a round at campus police, who then shot back, killing him.
