The popular Movies in the Park series will return to downtown Grand Rapids, and Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., along with Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, are asking fans to figure out what the lineup is based on clues from a short video.

The organizations released the video this morning, and it features local celebrities, officials, and some hometown heroes depicting memorable scenes from movies. If you think you know what those are, you could win a pretty awesome prize.

A young boy used his love of gospel to help get him through a pretty scary situation and it may have saved his life.

Willie Myrick, 9, was kidnapped from the driveway of his home in Atlanta earlier this month. He told police the kidnapper drove him around for three hours before dropping him off completely unharmed.

The App That Could Keep You Safe When You’re Out Alone

Kitestring is an app on the market whose main goal is to make sure people get from point A to point B safely, and will notify their emergency contacts if they don't. To be fair, this isn't an ingenious, new idea. There are a couple of other apps like it out there. But, in my opinion, Kitestring is probably the best. Unlike bSafe or Nirbhaya, both of which both alert your emergency contacts if you're in trouble, Kitestring doesn't require you to touch anything (bSafe) or shake your phone (Nirbhaya) to let people know that you're possibly in danger. In order for Kitestring to work, you literally have to do nothing.
