D.C. Elementary Student Disappointed That President Obama’s Not Beyonce

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama made a surprise stop at The Inspired Teaching School, a Washington, D.C., charter school, on Thursday afternoon to participate in a community service project.

He and other volunteers filled backpacks with books and toys for homeless children at the Inspired Teaching School to mark the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance. The president also assisted volunteers in building an outdoor playground.

The visit came much to the dismay of a young girl, who had hoped the surprise visitor would be Beyoncé Knowles.

Mary J. Blige Sets December Release for ‘The London Sessions’ [Video]

Just days after releasing a new single, "Right Now," Mary J. Blige has announced the release date of her next album, "Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions."

The singer's upcoming set, recorded overseas, is expected to arrive in stores on Dec. 2 via Capitol Records.

“It’s all about the London music scene and I’m so excited to have been part of it, to record my album,” Blige said in a statement. “The songs are fun, therapeutic and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I’m proud of what we have done here.”

Janay Palmer Rice, Ray Rice’s Wife, Defends Her Husband

Janay Palmer Rice, the wife of embattled Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, came to his defense via an Instagram post and blamed the news media for destroying their lives.

Rice's contract was terminated by the Ravens and the NFL suspended him indefinitely after TMZ Sports posted a video from the elevator security cameras of an Atlantic City, N.J., casino that captured the Pro Bowl running back throw the punch that left his then fiancée sprawled unconscious on the elevator floor.

Usher Announces 27 Dates for UR Experience, with Auburn Hills, Chicago Concerts [Video]

Hot on the heels of a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and release of his new single/video "She Came To Give It To You," Usher announced he will tour North America this fall.

He plans to bring the UR Experience to 27 cities. The dates include The Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit on Nov. 4 and United Center in Chicago on Nov. 17.

It is the Grammy Award winner's first headlining tour in three years.

Wu-Tang Clan Member Method Man’s ‘Tical’ Album Getting 20th Anniversary Re-Release [Video]

This is the 20th anniversary of Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man’s "Tical" album.

The album was originally released by Def Jam Records on Nov. 15, 1994, marking his debut as a solo artist.

A special two-CD deluxe edition is being released by Def Jam/Universal Music Group on Tuesday, including the newly-remastered album and a second disc of 13 bonus tracks. The second disc features remixes by RZA, The Chemical Brothers, Puff Daddy (Sean Combs)and The Prodigy, with several mixes of the smash “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” (with Mary J. Blige).
