Forget about the dawn's early light, this Fourth of July is all about the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air and maybe even a couple of spiders. Those are the ones that, well, look kind of like a spider, anyway.
For a professional singer, there are few gaffes more embarrassing than flubbing a line from 'The Star Spangled Banner.' (Are you listening, Christina Aguilera?) But when these pint-sized patriots get caught up on the lyrics, well, it's just flat-out adorable. The more mess-ups, the merrier.
“Indoor tanning is out,” says the Canadian Dermatology Association, who’ve placed tanning beds squarely in their crosshairs with a new web PSA that shows young women singing their skin with a clothes iron, toaster and waffle iron. Ouch. The CDA hopes these exaggerated examples of frying one’s skin hammers home the dangers of tanning. According to their website:
As Della Reese once said in the 1996 Martin Lawrence classic of the same name, “It’s a thin line between love and hate.” Mackie the Boston Terrier clearly has some strong feeling about being tickled, but whether “Please sir, may I have another?” or “If you touch me again, I’m going to explode” is up for interpretation. Either way, it manifests itself with a series of delightful facial expressions the Mackie’s owner caught on camera:
When a Chihuahua named Yoda took the stage, she was just the latest pup to win the title of World’s Ugliest Dog. But when she accidentally fell off, she tumbled headlong into an elite class of celebrity — those who have been caught on video taking a spill on stage, including megastars Rihanna, Beyoncé, Keith Urban and Justin Bieber. Luckily, Yoda was unharmed by the fall.
Learning to drive is certainly a new trick for Rain and Ruger, two Australian cattle dogs who were taught to operate a toy car. Their owners post clips of the pair in action on their YouTube channel, Fun With Pup And Jane,
There’s no doubting the ease and creativity with which this gentleman avoids an oncoming train. Courtesy of UK based YouTuber BlackMoonCGI (who had a hit video a few months ago with his take on what’s inside Dr. Spock’s scanner), with this instructional video you’ll never get stuck with your car on the train tracks again.
After days of heavy rain in China’s Anhui Province, residents of Huangshan City were treated to a “mirage” that turned their cityscape into an ethereal scene, the likes of which are normally reserved for movies and fairytales. As the post-storm mist descended on the Tunxi section of the Xin’an River, large groups gathered to marvel at buildings and landmarks that appeared to float on the river surrounded by clouds.
Earlier this week, a man dropped off a section of rusty pipe to firefighters at Redding, California’s Fire Station #4. Why? There was a kitten trapped inside of it. That’s right, a real life, just-larger-than-pipe-sized cat. So were these American heroes able to squeeze him out? Yes!

Playing the harmonica is tough, especially when you yodel into it instead of blowing. Then again, who knows? Maybe everyone else is doing it wrong. Maybe this is how a harmonica is supposed to sound. In any event, toddler Max has plenty of time to figure it out. Even if he doesn’t, he’s got a killer siren impression to fall back on. Hardly a year old and he’s already set for life. Check out Max in action below:
When friends Joe and Larry got stuck at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport overnight, they embraced their confinement like two kids in an empty candy store. Once the airport cleared out for evening, they were off to the wheelchair races. They also hit the escalators, the kitchen, the shoe shine chair and the airport bar, filming the whole adventure in HD for the internet to see. Check it out below:
A 12-year-old Bornean orangutan named Jorong became a viral sensation this week when video surfaced of him rescuing a seemingly injured moorhen chick from drowning in a pond inside his enclosure. The four-minute long, one-ape, one-leaf rescue effort took place at the Dublin Zoo in Ireland sometime before 2008 when Jorong was moved to a zoo in Western England as part of an international breeding program.
