ArtPrize's website has been having problems all day. High traffic led to the website crashing and kept many from being able to place their votes on the final day of the first round.

ArtPrize has extended the voting deadline of the first round due to these problems.  Voting had been scheduled to end at 11:59pm tonight, voting will now end at 4:00pm on Thursday.

The announcement of the top ten will not be effected.

However, as of 9:31pm Wednesday night, problems at the website continue.

ArtPrize explains:

Unfortunately, do to higher than expected website traffic, we are currently resetting our servers to accommodate your numerous requests. Essentially, ArtPrize 2011 is more popular than we ever expected.

We will reopen the website as soon as possible. Voting will remain open on Sept. 29, until 4PM (EDT).

Until then, registration and activation can be completed at the HUB or one of our eight Exhibition Centers.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Let's hope we get this all straightened out soon.
