The votes are in.  We will know the winner of ArtPrize tonight.

It's time to peer into your crystal ball and tell the future!

Who do you think will win ArtPrize 2012?

The Top 10 of ArtPrize 2012 seems very familiar.

Familiar themes = animals and religion

Familiar venues = GRAM, The Grand River, The B.O.B., etc.

Familiar medium = glass mosaic and pencil on paper

Familiar size = LARGE

The inclusion of formerly successful themes and artists in the Top 10 of ArtPrize 2012 makes it especially hard to predict a winner.  You could make a strong case for winning for most of the entries.

I'm going to guess that "Lights in the Night" will win.

The fact that "Lights in the Night" was postponed due to weather on September 21 has worked in its favor.  The lanterns were launched on September 28 instead.

Launching thousands of Chinese lanterns just before the Round 1 voting deadline helped to put this entry in the Top 10 and kept it top-of-mind for many when voting to choose a winner from the Top 10.

Many will find it hard not to show favoritism for an entry they have participated in.  What artist wouldn't vote for themselves?

It was an amazing event.  I think it will win.  But you can count me among those who don't feel like "Lights in the Night" is art.  It was a very cool event that helped to show what an amazing place West Michigan is...but not art.

There will be another winner too, the $100,000 Juried Grand Prize.  Who will win this is even tougher to predict, but I'm guessing and hoping for our tall friend Mr. Weekend.

Who do you think will win the Juried Grand Prize?
