April Fools: Best Prank Ever

Gather around children, and let me tell you a story of one of the best pranks in the history of our galaxy.

Radio stations LOVE to prank, and on April Fools Day of 1976 the BBC pulled off a brilliant hoax.

They convinced their listeners that an astronomical event would take place at 9:47 a.m. that day. Pluto was expected to pass behind Jupiter, and would briefly cause a powerful combination of the two planets' gravitation which would be noticed by people on Earth.

If listeners jumped into the air, at that exact moment, they would find they felt a floating sensation.

Shortly after this announcement the phones at the BBC lit up with people reporting they noticed the decrease in gravity.

Shortly after the calls rolled in, it was revealed that this was an April Fools prank, and a great one at that!

Thus, the Jovian-Plutonian gravitational effect went down in the history books as one of the best pranks in the galaxy.
