Lunch can be costly! Visa recently did a survey that proves just that.

In the survey, Americans on average spend over $2,500 yearly. This spending is cut into several categories of course.

The survey also says that the average person eats out twice a week, with meals costing $13. Those in homemaking spend the most per meal at $17.

The most popular lunchtime location for Americans is the homestead, with 43% eating there. As for full-time employees, 53% stay close to work, with 23% eating right at their desk.

Experts say that people should steer clear of fancy lunch, and should clip coupons to save hundreds of dollars annually.
