Chanteuse Adele, whose smash album ’21′ has sold an estimated 10 million copies and is the best-selling album of 2011 in both the US and the singer’s native UK, recently told  Spinner that she’s mended fences with the man who broke her heart and inspired the songs on the record.

“We’re becoming friends again,” she told a London audience this week. “It’s alright, I know what I’m doing. Enough time has gone by now.”

The poignant tracks on ’21,’ which have connected with countless lovelorn people across the world, served as a sort of therapy for the British superstar and helped her forgive. “I hope he has forgiven himself [too],” she added.

The critical darling went on to say she and her anonymous ex, whom she once called her “soulmate,” are even sharing in the success of ’21.’

“Now with what’s going on with the album around the world, it’s important to be able to share it with him. Because it’s marvelous what has happened. He changed my life, I can’t deny that.”
