One of American Idol's most notable alumni is ready to put his reality TV chops to the test Down Under.

Adam Lambert, who placed second on Idol's eighth season in 2009, has officially joined the X Factor Australia's judging panel for its forthcoming eighth season. And he's in good company: Iggy Azalea signed onto the show last week.

"I am very excited to join X Factor in Australia and am looking forward to helping people shine their brightest," Lambert told The Daily Telegraph in an interview published today (June 21). "Australia has always been one of my favorite places to tour. The Aussies I've met are so kind and good humored — so the thought of getting to live in Sydney is exciting."

The Telegraph has also confirmed that Guy Sebastian will be the third and final judge. The show has previously featured four judges, and the narrowing of the panel will mean fewer contestants and live episodes.

The Sydney Morning Herald first reported Dannii Minogue — who'd been on the panel since 2013 — has been ousted.

Lambert's already proven to have a knack for spotting talent. He served as a fill-in judge during the Season 14 American Idol audition process, during which he gave eventual winner Nick Fradiani the green light to advance to Hollywood Week.

Think Lambert will make a good addition to the X Factor panel? Sound off in the comments.
