Grand Rapids is becoming one of the hot spots for entertainment, which of course includes music and we're going to get even more of it this summer!

Breakaway Music Festival is a 2-day event that includes Rap, Indie and EDM artists and is held in Columbus, Ohio. But have expanded to include Charlotte, North Carolina and Grand Rapids this year.

They announced on their Facebook page earlier this week that they will be in Grand Rapids on Friday, August 25 and Saturday, 26th at Belknap Park. They also released the lineup of artists expected to perform at the festival.

Rapper, Travis Scott; DJ, Zedd; and singer, Jon Bellion are the main headliners.

According to MLive, one of the co-founders of Breakaway Music Festival said that they chose Grand Rapids as one of their locations because:

It's a thriving city in the Midwest and the craft beer capital of the country plus shows a consistent increase in the population of young professionals in the region."

The city also approved allowing alcohol sales at the park for the event.

Tickets for the festival begin at $80 and you can purchase your tickets here.
