On Sunday we officially fell back in an hour due to daylight savings time. Whether you see this as a good thing or bad thing, a legislator in Michigan thinks there is "no rational basis" to daylight savings.

Mlive.com says Representative Peter Lucido from Shelby Township, introduced a new bill that will get rid of Daylight Savings Time.

He claims it leads to workplace accidents, health and driving risks, sleep disruptions and simple hassles for people that need to manually change clocks twice a year."

Also, the intent of the whole thing -- to save energy -- hasn't even happened. That in fact, energy usage has increased rather than decreased.

The new bill will also make the entire state an Eastern Time Zone. Four counties in the U.P. are currently in the central time zone.
