62 recruits graduated from the 128th Trooper Recruit School in Lansing, and reported for their first day of work as Michigan State Police troopers on Monday.

The 128th Trooper Recruit School in Lansing began in early March, and started with 85 prospective troopers. Recruits went through 21 weeks of various training such as firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing, and precision driving.

The challenges didn't start with school, in order to be selected for the academy all applicants had to pass a fitness test, background investigation and a hiring interview, only then were they selected to be part of the 128th class.
