"Fifty Shades of Grey" dominated the box office this weekend, bringing in $81.7 million in its first three days of its release.

That's the best Presidents' Day opening weekend of all time, the second-biggest February debut ever and the fourth-biggest R-rated debut in history.

The only other big release this weekend was the spy thriller "Kingsman: The Secret Service," which debuted in second place with $35.6 million.

Here are this week's top 10 movies, according to Variety Magazine:

  3. "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water," $30.5 million. Up to $93.7 million in its second week.
  4. "American Sniper," $16.4 million. Up to $304 million in its eighth week.
  5. "Jupiter Ascending," $9.4 million. Up to $32.6 million in its second week.
  6. "Seventh Son," $4.153 million. Up to $13.4 million in its second week.
  7. "Paddington," $4.15 million. Up to $62.3 million in its fifth week.
  8. "The Imitation Game," $3.5 million. Up to $79.7 million in its 12th week.
  9. "The Wedding Ringer," $3.4 million. Up to $59.7 million in its fifth week.
  10. "Project Almanac," $2.7 million.  Up to $19.6 million in its third week.
