The 65th annual Emmys (which aired on Sept. 22) boasted plenty of stunning outfits on the bodies of celebs as they pranced the red carpet. There were also plenty of fashion clunkers, which bummed us out, since some of our favorite stars (and their stylists) were out of character and didn’t choose wisely.

Here’s the StarCrush recap of the worst dressed stars at the 2013 Emmys.

Amy Poehler:

We love the actress and funny gal, but this black dress went wrong with the high collar and the dragon pockets and/or appendages on the hips. It’d be cute on Lady Gaga or Katy Perry. Poehler isn’t the type for kitschy details.

Juliana Margulies:

The ‘Good Wife’ star wore a white, custom, strapless column gown with black flowers by Reed Krakoff that would have landed her on the “other” list tonight if it didn’t have the extra swath of fabric on one side. We’re trying to figure out what purpose it served other than adding some girth to a silhouette that is meant to be slim.

Brooke Burke-Charvet:

The stunning actress erred in this clingy, body con white dress with black piping and bandage fabric, both of which ran in different directions. Too much going on, girl! Wearing white after Labor Day is no longer a no-no, but this dress wasn’t flattering.

Kate Mara:

The stylish actress also went with white. Her J. Mendel dress boasted an overly busy, netted top and a major slit. The top and bottom don’t match from an aesthetic perspective.

Leslie Mann:

The hilarious actress and wife of Judd Apatow poured her lithe frame into a striped, zigzag J. Mendel dress that made us dizzy looking at it. The sheer panel of the skirt wasn’t pretty, either. It felt like club gear.

Lena Dunham:

Yes, the ‘Girls’ star and writer is brilliant, but this billowy, triangle-shaped Prada dress with floral print wasn’t chic. It was like wearing a beach-appropriate maxi dress with a hoop skirt underneath to give it the illusion of gown-ness.

Julianne Hough:

The actress and singer is usually a sure bet to wear something sexy and chic on the red carpet, but not tonight. Her Jenny Packham gown, in a heather grey shade with sparkle, was see-through on the bottom and too loose-fitting on top. And we can see her granny panties!

January Jones:

The ‘Mad Men’ star wore a blush, strapless Givenchy dress that washed her out and made her look like a milkmaid. Plus, the bodice looks like it’s crushing her boobs flat. Had this gown been a black or midnight blue shade, we might have loved it. But it’s not, so we don’t.

Julie Bowen:

She may star on ‘Modern Family,’ but Bowen’s Zac Posen dress felt very ’80s. We don’t know how she walked in that overly designed, pale pink frock. There’s no movement to the fabric, and it looked stiff.
